Jessie, Wrangle Em Up... We've Got a Photoshoot Planned.

Is everyone getting ready for another lovely fall weekend? I know I am. I am hoping to be a little busy too.

I had booked family photos with a friend only to have overcast skies when we left the house and when we almost arrived to the photoshoot destination, it was monsoon season! Blowing cold winds and raining. It was really too bad as we were going to go to the grotto at Mundare cemetery.... ok I know you are thinking "how wierd! Family photos in a cemetery?" Ok so you need to see this place. Wel, I haven't actually seen this place but I've seen the photos and they are really pretty. Beautiful backgrounds of trees, rock walls and stairways. Really nice fall background for photos. So, this weekend I'll be doing some planning of my own. I may have to get some bales from my uncle... and find some pumpkins or something.... I'll be sure to post a picture or two when and if I get these done. May involve a little bribery with the girls... ;P

I'm also hoping to get a few new items in the shop. and complete some party sets I have been working on.

I'm quite excited about lil' Miss B's birthday party coming up. She has chosen my Strawberry shortcake invite as her birthday card this year.... I've been busy sending her mom some extras to go with it in hopes I can get some cute shots to share. See, I have sold a lot of these invites and coordinating items but this is one I haven't had time to print for myself and see it all put together in a party. I'm quite excited!

NEW ADDITIONS!

New Jessie cupcake toppers, water bottle labels and thank you notes have made it into the shop to match our invites... keep popping back because we will be having another new addition soon!

You Better Not Pout!

Ok, ok, so I know you are going to CRINGE when you see what I am about to post but THAT time of year is creeping up around the corner and no one wants to get caught up in the whirlwind of running here and searching there for gifts, cards, lists etc.

Yes, (insert DA-DA-DAAAAA!) the HOLIDAY SEASON. Yes, we all know jolly St. Nick is getting his shop ready to bring all the good little boys and girls their toys and we are getting our shop ready to make your life easier too!

We are filling the shop with Christmas Greetings of every style so you can scratch that off your list early off in the game. So take a peek at what we have listed and start thinking about your photos or anything special you want to share with your family and friends this year. Have questions about purchasing our cards and how it works? No problem! Send me an Etsy convo or leave me a note here and I would be happy to get back to you with some answers.

So this holiday season, don't find yourself settling for a big box store photo card that 3 other friends of yours also purchased and pick up one at the shop instead. Your friends will be wondering where you got such a great card design!

Just HAD TO share this one! This is my photog friend's family (below).... she always has the BEST Christmas card greetings!

A Haunting We Will Go

I'm getting in the Halloween spirit these days. We bought our festive fall window clings and decorated the windows and hung our fall wreath up and all our Halloween cards are in the shop ready to announce your party just like this fun little invite:

I thought for our little Tips and Tricks Tuesday I would share some cute crafts for the kidlets to do. (Just click the titles for the links and how-tos)

Ok, so this little guy is almost too cute to spook.

Juice Box Jack-O-Lantern

This is a fun way to use up some little juice boxes lying around. The would be really cute lined up in the window sill or a couple on a fireplace mantle.

Spooky Reading and Crafts Books:

My friend is an Usborne Dealer and this looks like a super fun book to try out for Halloween.

Click the link to see some of the cool Halloween crafts you can do with their sneek peek inside the book.

ETSY REVIEW ALERT!

Here's a little treasure every mom should have hidden in her bag.

KBExquisites Crayon Wallets

I bought one over a year ago and I have gotten so much use out of it I bought some for gifts for Christmas to friends' kids. My friends were so impressed with them. They thought they were cute and compact enough for their bags and they have a little loop so the kidlets can carry them all by themselves.

INCLUDED WITH THIS WALLET is a 3" x 5" doodle pad,8 crayola crayons AND two happy face star crayons to nestle in as a surprise bonus for your child. They are really cute.

Whenever I'd take the kids with me for coffee it was the first thing we put on the table and the kids would be busy colouring or drawing for a good half and hour... long enough for mom to enjoy a good cup of Italian cappucino! They come in a lot of great colours too. I bought a mermaid one for a friend and a dump truck one for another friend. My girls got a Little Mermaid Limited Edition one with a princess crayon in it.

KBExquisites makes these really cute AND durable because we all know how hard kids can be on toys etc. Be sure to check out their Etsy Shop for other great gift ideas!

Fancy Little Frills....

Pearl and Pauper

I picked up a few of these SUPER CUTE little lace rompers from Pearl and Pauper for a photographer friend of mine a short while back we were both super impressed with how adorable (and stretchy) these were.

I mean, look at the shop photo, now are you not sold on this?

I sent a link of it to my friend as she does a lot of baby and child photography and thought it would be something I would squeal about if my photographer pulled it out of her prop trunk. Infact, before dropping it off with her I had to do a quick photoshoot of my own (and I mean quick as there were some nasty black clouds rolling in that day after work).

I put those rompers to the test alright. My girls are 2 and 4 but fit size 4 and 6 tall clothes. Well the medium and large sizes were perfect! They stretched a lot.

Anyways, they come in so many cute colours. I opted for the not so mainstream pink and blue and ordered the CORAL and the AQUA. Gorgeous colours for great little girl shots! The shop owner even threw in 2 little hair clips (see last 2 photos above) to go with them.

So if you are looking for a great little shop that sells something a bit over-the-top cute for your photos, definately stop over at Pearl and Pauper on Etsy!

Lovely little poppy....

So if you have been following my blog here or my Lissy in Italy blog, you know I am a total Etsy finatic! I have been on Etsy for around 2 years and have found so many wonderful treasures (some purchased and some are on my "one-day" wishlist).

I thought it was about time I dusted off this blog an added a few Etsy features of items I personally bought through Etsy. So here it goes....

Lovely little poppy...

She made it into my jewellery drawer and I'm so glad I found her. It's a ring that is casual enough for jeans and a t-shirt to fancier dress-up dinners. I have had comments from friends on how pretty this little poppy is and even from some FARMERS that stroll into my office (I now work in the agriculture industry). So if that isn't saying this little ring is for everyone...

The shop owner (www.peachtreelane.etsy.com) was wonderful to work with and the shipping was quick. It was once again a wonderful purchase in my opinion. Peach Tree Lane also has a variety of other lovelies I just might have to go back and get...

It was even nicely packaged in a sweet little sturdy box so as to not crush my ring in delivery (which I have unfortunately had happen twice).
