Our Sofia the First celebrates turning 5

Our little Sofia the First celebrated turning 5 with a fabulous birthday theme of none other than ... Sofia the First of course. Right now I think she is Princess Sofia's biggest fan. We decorated with pretty paper doily bunting and of course lots of balloons (in many colours as my girls' favorite colour changes all the time). We decorated the cupcakes with icing and purple sprinkles and topped them with little Sofia the First paper cut outs and gummy butterflies (now the gummies were a total hit!) We gave out sweet little homemade purple treat bags with cute little candycane shaped Sofia the First lip gloss on the outside instead of a bow (my girl is a December baby so it worked great. She had a blast and got a new T-Shirt for the party and a new necklace I found on Etsy here: Great little shop and super prices on these little necklaces and bracelet sets.

You asked... We're answering.

Over at THE ETSY SHOP I get a lot of people convoeing me with some very good questions. I thought I would share a few of them for other future customers to help you with the ordering process.

1. How does ordering work?

Once you have added the item to your cart and paid through paypal and completed your order through Etsy, I will start your order by adding info and photos and send you a proof. Once the proof is finalized by you, I will email the file (usually in jpg form) to the address attached to your Etsy account.

2. How long does an order take to complete?

Once it is paid, I usually try to get the order finished in around 3 days depending on how many changes, you as the client, request. To get your order completed faster, please include all info I need in notes to buyer on Etsy including if you need special specifications.

3. Do I get a proof first?

Yes. I usually send out a proof first unless it is a simple order such as a tag with only requires a name being added.

4. Can I use my own wording?

Yes! If you have something special you want your card to say, by all means let us know. We will do our best to fit it on.

5. I have a few photos I am having trouble deciding which one to use. Can I see the card with a few photo choices?

Yes. Please send me a few photos if you can't decide. Sometimes the layout of the card helps to determine which photo looks best.

6. Do you do printing?

Unfortunately not at this time. We are currently a "you-print" company. This way your costs stay lower and there are no shipping fees and worries as to whether your invites will show up in time to mail out for your party.

7. Do you do rush orders?

We can depending on how backed up we are. Please send me a convo and let us know your situation and we can see if we can get you your order asap. We do have to charge an extra $10 fee for express orders.

8. How do I print these?

I recommend using a professional photofinisher for printing as the design details pop more but you can easily print these cards at home on your printer on heavy cardstock.

9. How do you recommend cutting and assembling the cupcake toppers / tags?

Our tags are designed as 2" round toppers. I prefer to use a 2 1/2" or 3" hole punch to make it quicker but our toppers are designed with a sqare background for those party planners who are strapped for time and need a quick and easy cut design. Once cut, attach to a lollipop stick with tape or white circle labels (easily found at your local office supply store).

10. Do you have specific hours?

Being a busy full-time working mom, I dedicate time to my shop in the evenings (usually after my children have gone to bed). I do however try to take Weekends off for family time.

A Little Merry for the Holidays...

We've added a few new Christmas greetings to the shop. Pop on over and snap them up for your holiday greetings!

Fall Decor Link Up 2013

Happy Fall everyone! Ok so it doesn't really feel like fall today around here - they are even saying we may set a record today for the heat. Last time it was 29.4 degrees Celcius was 70 years ago!!! Of course I'm not complaining about the heat... I would be quite happy with weather like this over chilly gloomy days. So anyways, I have been in the full on fall decor swing as of late and have been perusing the pictures on pinterest and magazines for some fall decor ideas. We just bought a house in July so I'm excited to have it all decked out for fall. It will be hard to get rid of my flowers since they looked so amazing this year but I'm sure I can find some great filler ideas for my pots by our entryways. We went to a bird educational day this summer and the girls came home with their own painted bird houses so I think I might get hubby to add so stakes to them for now so I can stand them in my pots and I'm looking forward to getting some pumpkins to add and well, we'll see what else we find. I did pick up a sparkly wreath and a cute little scarecrow the other day that the girls just love... Wreath for the front door since we haven't had time to paint our front door yet and the scarecrow is already by our side door greeting everyone as they come home. What is everyone doing for your fall decor this season? I would love to see what you are working on.... I'm going to add a little link up to the bottom of this post so you all can share. In the meantime, here are a few things I'm just loving...

Backyard Butterfly Soiree

What a fun party for little girls!
This one is so easy to put on. Decorate with paper butterfly cutouts and stitch together with your sewing machine or else just tape them to the ends of your balloon curly ribbons for a fun effect over the cake table. Make cute little cupcake toppers with pretzels and icing or if you are feeling a little more ambitious, try making chocolate butterflies. For a great centerpiece, pick up a couple of the wire and nylon butterflies you find at your local dollar stor... so cute and low cost. Why not do a little face painting? You do not need to be an artist to do this. Just pick up some face paint crayons and paint full face butterflies or feeling a bit iffy about face painting.... just add little butterflies on the kids cheeks... I guarantee they will love either design!!!

You can stop by the shop to pick up this adorable butterfly birthday invite here.

Sweet Strawberry Party

The summer is nearing an end and soon fall will be upon us... let's try to celebrate the fruits of the summer season with a SWEET little STRAWBERRY party... or Strawberry Tea Party! This invite and the matching printables have a sweet vintage feel... throw out a pretty patterned quilt in the backyard and add some finger sandwiches and cupcakes for the little ladies and you have a fantastic, low maintenace/low planning, backyard party! Make a little lemonade with strawberries floating in it for colour and flavor... add a few strawberries and some whipped cream.... oh yum!

Just Dance!

This darling party is for all those little ballerinas out there! Here are some great ideas for a ballerina party. Need a pretty backdrop? Why not string up some tutus and after the party they can be part of the treat bags you give out. This party is all about the frills so you need to add some frills to the tablecloth, to the cake and even a little tutu on the cake stands.... It's just too sweet!

Host a Summer Party!

It's summer and everyone is in a relaxing, partying mood and why not? IT'S SUMMER! Yay! Why not throw your own backyard theme party and invite everyone. It's an absolutely easy party to throw. Check out my inspiration board below!
Those cute little grass skirt cookies look easy enough I think even I could make them and what a fun idea with meatball burgers. Those are so cute! Great size for the kids and great snack food for adults! Make a little punch or iced tea and fancy it up with a sprig of mint in your ice cubes or throw some raspberries in there for colour. When they melt they will add a little extra flavor to everyone's drinks. Now for the cupcakes.... OMG! Are these not the cutest! Little teddy crackers and icing... add an umbrella and done! There are so many more ideas out there. Pick up some floral leis at the dollar store and give each guest one for the party! And if you are looking for those cute invites... you can find them at my shop along with several matching printables at Pin It

Somewhere Over The Rainbow....

...someone is celebrating a fabulous RAINBOW party!

And why not? Doesn't this look like the most fun party theme ever??? Heck it just looks fun to decorate!

I've made similar cupcakes before and for those of you who think they can't bake... YOU SO CAN DO THIS! Buys a cake mix, separate the mix out into separate bowls once you have added all the ingredients and add your food colouring. Voila! Now just add the different colours SLOWLY to your cupcake tins (cute wrappers make it even more special!) and bake. Again, these rainbow cookies look fairly simple for a novice to accomplish.

Now I'm a busy working momma as well, so I know we don't always have the time to make elaborate cookies and cakes but these look pretty easy. Or get those pretty rainbow butterflies from Etsy and add to a simple white icing cake. Looks like you slaved away making it pretty.

The rainbow fruit tray is a great idea too. Do it with your veggies too!

Don't forget to adorn your birthday girl with a rainbow headband I found on Etsy. Super cute!

Princess Party Time!

I have two little girls princesses at home and boy do they love parties.

Every time I turn around they are dressed up in their princess dresses and dancing around... it's adorable! I've had to throw princess parties in the past for my girls and I thought I would share some really cool ideas with you for some princess party ideas.

I mean, I usually throw a party together last minute as I'm so busy helping others throw their super fantastic parties!

That pink popcorn is a great idea and a good way to try and keep the sweets down a bit. And wow for cakes I found on the net. There are some super talented people out there. I especially loved the Snow White Cupcakes. Now those are just too sweet to eat and I'm pretty sure even I could handle the cute sugar cookie slipper and crown cookies.

Some Bunny Loves You!

Easter is just around the corner and everyone is getting that yearly itch for pastel pinks, blues, greens and yellows. Bunnies and chick are popping up everywhere (and no I don't mean of the Hefner type). We've all had enough of the blustery Blues and Winter Woes and everyone is eagerly awaiting EASTER! The first signs of spring and lovely weather. I've already given myself a dose of spring tulips and am ready for full-blown spring fun!

Are you ready?

I've already purchased my girls some cute lavender coloured Easter socks (a bit of a holiday tradition I've started) and have begun to pack away a few Easter goodies but have you gotten your Easter cards ready? No? Well, what are you waiting for? Pop over to the shop to order your greetings that will beautifully show off your little "chicks" Easter photo shoot pictures! We also have some great coordinating Easter party decorations.

A Valentine for You!

I wanted to share a little Valentine's Day giveaway with you all today.

Yesterday I went shopping to get the girls some window clings to decorate our patio windows and they were super excited. I didn't even have to fight to get them both in the tub last night at bath time! Now that's a feat! So they will be enjoying doing that today and I will get to see their efforts when I get home today after work.

Anyways, onto our giveaway. I have a few love bees for you all. Please feel free to tell your friends about them. I do ask that you only use them for personal use. All you have to do is save them to your computer and print! Happy Almost Valentine's Day!

Share a little love.

Hi everyone,

Today I'm in the mood for love. Valentine's Day is just around the corner and my kids are getting excited to share their Valentine's already. Plus I had a fabulous weekend with my besties so that totally recharged my batteries. We have now decided it is necessary to do those wonderful get-together-shopping-sprees every two months. Mommies really do need their alone time to be themselves instead of a mommy all the time.

So anyways, I'm in the mood to get my girls decorating the house for Valentine's Day so I looked around for some cute and awesome ideas and wanted to share it with you. I try to share things that are simple and easy to do for all you busy mommies out there like me, so enjoy!

What a cute and simple idea! A nice little bit of bunting above the bed. And I'm sure you could find precut pieces at the local dollar store or craft shop. Thank you Shabby Addict for sharing!

This is almost the same idea as above, you just need a few more pieces and a little extra glue to make the 3-D version but so cute for the window! Check it out at Lushome.

So sweet, so simple. Just download (or make your own on your computer, and print it out. Pop in a frame and voila! An adorable little sign for the holiday. This one is from Less Cake More Frosting.

Could this be any easier? A simple votive and some pretty sprinkles. These would look great on a dinner table or mantle! Source: Home Klondike.

Here are a few more candle ideas... add a little paper or stickers and these look great! Just be sure to keep an eye out so the paper doesn't get too close to the flame. Source: Decoist.

Decorate your front door with this cute paper wreat! The kids can help with the cutting and gluing. Source: Craftelf.

This would be great on a table in the entry way or on a side table somewhere. And I love that they used red AND blue hearts for the little guys out there. Thanks No Time 2 B Bored!

So I hope you are all inspired to go and decorate a little for the holiday of love. I sure am and some of these look so easy to do with my girls. If you like what you see here please share! We'd also like to hear your decor ideas!
